THE CHOMPER AUTOMATIC CYCLE The Chomper Automatic Firewood Processor is designed to shear firewood to length and split automatically. 1. The log is fed into the machine with the winch and butts up against the shear blade when it is in the closed position. The clamp arm is lowered against the log to hold it in place.
2. The Automatic Cycle is turned on and the shear blade rises to the open position and then the shear blade frame moves toward the infeed for the desired length of firewood.
3. The shear blade penetrates 75-80% through the log, but does not completely sever the piece. The shear blade frame then moves toward the splitter head. Forcing the nearly severed piece into the splitter while pulling the trailing end of the log further into the machine positioning it for the next cut. The shear blade then finishes its cut and the cycle starts over again.
The CHOMPER Automatic Cycle is protected under U.S. Patent No. 4,483,379 and Canadian Patent No. 1,192,118
